Public Health
Public health is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, and improving health through organized efforts of society. Its importance lies in the fact that it is very critical to the causes of diseases; it helps in leading healthy lifestyles and improves systems of health care as well as prevents outbreaks. In Bangladesh, because of high population density, frequent natural disasters, and diseases such as dengue, tuberculosis, and malnutrition, public health initiatives are of prime importance. Investing in public health saves lives, strengthens the nation’s workforce, reduces healthcare costs, and ensures long-term sustainable development. Our NGO, Work for Better Society, advocates for strong public health infrastructure that creates healthier communities, resilience, and better livelihoods for all Bangladeshis.
